abstract = "The Reflectance spectroradiometry is a technique of remote sensing
that allows obtaining spectral data of the soil through the use of
hyperspectral sensors. A database with information on spectral
curves of soils can contribute to understanding the physical,
chemical and mineralogical properties of this non-renewable
resource that enables terrestrial life. For this, the construction
of a regional spectral library becomes of great utility. The
objective of this study was to analyze and characterize the
spectral behavior of soil samples from the Sisal region. Spectral
data were collected (using a Field Spec sensor, 350-2200nm) for
soil samples at depth of 20cm, from the municipality of
Santaluz-BA. The samples were sieved in a 2mm mesh to homogenize
their roughness and humidity effects, and dried in an stove at
45ºC, in a period of 24 hours. Then, the radiometric analysis and
interpretation of the results were done, each sample being
represented by a single spectral curve plot. The reflectance curve
was influenced mainly by iron oxides, smectite and organic matter.
The main difference in the curves of the four samples analyzed was
the change in reflectance intensity. The use of an innovative
technique of soil studies proved to be efficient, fast and
ef-fective for the understanding of soil composition, generating
data that may contribute to the Spectral library of soils of the
                         Sisal region.",
